Sweet 16 Free Pick Duke vs Oregon

Duke Blue Devils (156.5) vs Oregon Ducks (-3)

The 4th seed Defending champion Duke Blue Devils take on the #1 seed Oregon Ducks in Anaheim to see who moves on to the West Region finals. Duke took out UNC Wilmington 93-85 in round 1 and Yale 71-64 to get to the Sweet 16. They went 1-1 ATS and are 6-12-1 ATS in their last 19 games. Oregon beat Holy Cross by 40 in round 1 before beating a good St Joseph’s team 69-64 to get to this point.

It’s quite amazing how fast the public forgets what a mediocre team Duke this is after just beating UNC Wilmington and Yale… I mean cmon it was YALE! Duke is 4-5 straight up in their last 9 games, losing by 7 to Louisville, 14 to Pittsburgh, 4 to Carolina and 5 to Notre Dame. Teams they beat include Florida St, Wake Forest, NC State and the 2 cream puffs in this tournament. Oregon has been underrated partly because they play in the Pac 12 and also because the talking heads said they should of been a 2 seed. This just in, Oregon is good. They average 80 points a game on offense and their defense only gives up 58 points a game, good for 8th best in the country. Their starting lineup is one of the best in the country with Dillon Brooks, Elgin Cook, Tyler Dorsey and Chris Boucher all averaging over 12 points a game and can score inside or from 3 point range. Oregon is 16-2 straight up and 12-6 against the spread in their last 18. This is where Duke’s dreams of becoming the first back to back champs since Florida in 06-07 ends. The Pick: Oregon -3
