The Favorites

Alabama: If you paid attention to our betting preview and free pick you would of known that Alabama always gets out of the gate fast. They didn’t disappoint. After USC played about as well as they could leading 3-0 after 1, The Tide unleashed their redshirt freshman QB Jalen Hurts who threw for 2 scores and ran for 2 more in a 52-6 ass whoopin off USC, easily covering as 12.5 point favorites.

Ohio St and Michigan: These 2 Big 10 Co Favorites did what a big favorite is supposed to against an outmatched opponent. They put it away early and didnt take their foots off the gas. Ohio St manhandled Bowling Green 77-10 behind JT Barrett’s 6 TD passes, covering as 27.5 point favorites. Michigan scored the games first 56 points and smacked Hawaii in the Big House 63-3 as 38 point favorites.

Florida St: Those bettors trying to salvage their weekend in the last game of the weekend by taking FSU -5 were freaking out when OLE Miss took a 28-6 lead. That’s when freshman Deondre Francois did his best Jameis Winston impersonation and threw for over 400 yards and 2 scores while rushing for another 59. Francois put his name firmly in the Heisman race and sent a message to Clemson. That the ACC championship isn’t a done deal.

The Underdogs

Houston: Everyone knew the Cougars were good but were they better than #3 Oklahoma and the mighty Big 12 they desperately want to join? Well The Big 12 should let them in before they kick the door down. In one of the most entertaining games of the weekend, Houston’s Brandon Wilson took a missed field goal back 109 yards for the score to take a 26-17 lead against the Sooners. They went on to pull the “upset” 33-23, winning outright as 13.5 dogs.

Wisconsin: In the first major college football game ever played at Lambeau Field, The Badgers used a jacked up crowd and stifling defense to hold LSU to 257 yards of total offense and keep Leonard Frounette out of the end zone. LSU held onto a slim 14-13 lead for much of the fourth quarter before Rafael Gaglianone’s 47 yard field goal with just over 3 minutes left won the game for Wisconsin, who won outright as 12.5 point dogs.

Texas: Well that didn’t take long for The Irish to break their fans’ hearts. In a wild game Sunday night the Irish and Longhorns traded punches all night. Notre Dame came back from a 17 point deficit to get the game to OT. The OT score was Tyrone Swoopes 14 Notre Dame 10…. Ballgame. Texas won outright 50-47 as 3.5 point dogs.

Bad Beats

Alabama vs USC UNDER 51.5: The people who bet on Alabama/USC game to go UNDER the 51.5 (Which a lot of people did) were feeling good about Alabama’s defense shutting USC down. The only problem was The Crimson Tide wouldn’t stop scoring. It seemed like Nick Saban and Lane Kiffen were trying to drop 50 on the Trojans by still chucking it in the 4th quarter of a game long decided. That led to a 45 yard touchdown pass from Blake Barnett to Gehrig Dieter that closed out the scoring 52-6 and sending the total OVER 51.5.

Clemson -8.5: The Clemson backers looked like they were going to get the certain cover when The Tigers failed to get a first down deep in Auburn territory with over a minute left and up by 6. Then Clemson coach Dabo Swinney took conservative coaching to an all time low when he was afraid to kick the chip shot field goal that would of put the game out of reach and the 8.5 point cover in the bag, for fear of the rare block FG, scoop and score. He went for it on 4th down and gave the ball back to Auburn. Then his defense needed to knock down a hail mary to save their coaches ass. Too bad no one who bet Clemson saw the hail mary. They already smashed their tv’s when he went for it on 4th down.
