NORTHERN ILLINOIS VS BALL STATE

The Northern Illinois Huskies travel to Indiana to take on Ball State in a match up of 2 teams in the bottom half of The MAC western division. The Huskies had a rough January, losing 6 of their 9 games but started to turn it around in February. They come in winning 3 straight against the top 3 teams in the western division Central Michigan, Toledo, and Western Michigan. The key to their recent turnaround has been the play of brothers Aaron/Aaric Armstead and limiting turnovers which had derailed them in so many games early in the season. Ball State on the other hand is a disaster. They are coming in to the game losers of 15 straight. They rank towards the bottom of division 1 in nearly every offensive and defensive statistical category. It’s not surprising when you consider the team is led by mostly freshman and sophomores. The reigning MAC Freshman of the year Zavier Turner has regressed, shooting and missing a lot of 3’s and turning the ball over. To have any chance in this game Turner must play better.

Prediction: Northern Illinois is playing really well of late. They are 7-2 in their last 9 ATS including 6-0 ATS in MAC road games. On February 10th Northern Illinois and Ball State played a tight first half before The Huskies pulled away in the 2nd half for an easy 12 point win and covering the 5 point spread. If they defend the 3 in this game they will have no trouble beating a terrible Ball State team. The 1 point spread in this game is a gift and we’re taking it. THE PICK NORTHERN ILLINOIS -1
