NFL Season Totals After Week 4
Current NFL Season Win Total Bets After four weeks we are starting...
With the realization that week 1 of college football’s opening weekend is less than 3 months away, it’s time for you to start looking forward so you can get off on the right foot for a successful football betting season. Week 1 of college football could be the hardest weekend for College bettors and linemakers alike. Unlike the NFL where you pretty much know how good most teams are going to be before the season starts, college is much harder to handicap. Yes, teams like Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State are all going to be good. The hard part is figuring out how the turnover of players are going to translate to how the teams play in week 1. Alabama has a new quarterback to break in and they are playing what could be a dangerous USC team which returns 16 starters. Clemson with its high powered offense only giving 8 points to an Auburn team that finished 7-6 last season looks like a gift. Then you remember Clemson lost a ton on defense and playing a true road game at Auburn opening night might be closer than you expect. It seems like all 22 starters from Ohio State were taken in the NFL draft. We know they will win week 1 but are you willing to lay 27 against Bowling Green when the Buckeyes haven’t been able to cover big numbers at home the last few years? It seems like the linesmakers are just throwing random numbers out for week one until you look at the results from the last couple years.

When it comes to week 1 college football betting, the public always loads up on favorites even more than other weeks later on in the season. This is most likely due to little or no research in the games they are betting and just betting on who was good last season. The books are usually ahead of the curve and crush in week 1. You can see from the results above the dogs got the better of the favorites 2 years ago and almost did it again last season. In our opinion week 1 should be a week where you tread lightly. Research a handful of games extensively and only bet a couple until the teams get a game under their belts because no one wants to be chasing before Labor Day. If you start handicapping today you will have a better chance to get the 2016 college football betting season off on the right foot.
