Browns VS Titans NFL Betting Free Pick

Browns vs Titans NFL Week 6 Free Pick

Cleveland is 0-5 straight up and 1-5 ATS after a 33-13 loss to New England. The total is 3-2

Tennessee is 2-3 SU and 2-3 ATS after a 30-17 win against Miami. The total is 3-2

The only remaining winless team in the NFL, The Cleveland Browns travel to Tennessee to take on the 2-3 Titans. It goes without saying that this isn’t the way Browns head coach Hue Jackson envisioned his 1st season as head coach going but this season was never going to end well. The Browns need a few years of drafting well and having the same coaching staff. On the other hand Tennessee was hoping to take a step forward in year 2 with Marcus Mariota at quarterback and after finishing 3-13 last season the organization and fan base have to be ecstatic with a 2-3 start. Lets take a quick look at both teams and make this week’s RideTheHotHand free pick.

The Tennessee Titans are playing exactly the way the coaches envisioned so far this season. Even though it’s year 2 of Marcus Mariota’s career and fans expect a breakout season, the coaches want to run the ball and play defense while asking Mariota to concentrate on limiting mistakes. Well the running game side of it has worked so far as Tennessee (behind Demarco Murray and Derrick Henry) are 2nd in the NFL in rushing. On the quarterback side of it Mariota isn’t quite keeping up his end of the bargain with 5 interceptions and 2 fumbles through 5 games. The defense has played really well as they rank 10th in the NFL in total defense. The Cleveland Browns on the other hand are just as good at running the ball, ranking 5th in the NFL in rushing. Their problem has been at quarterback. In the loss to the Patriots they had to play their 4th QB in 5 games when Charlie Whitehurst had to come in for rookie Cody Kessler. Cleveland has had another problem on its hands that’s just as responsible for the 0-5 start and that is defense. They rank 29th in total defense and can’t get off the field on 3rd down due to their inability to create a pass rush.

Final Analysis and pick

Don’t let the records fool you. These 2 teams aren’t as far apart as you think. Tennessee in week 2 against the Lions kept it low scoring and pulled it out on a 4th down TD pass to win with less than a minute to go a game they probably should have lost. Then they beat the Dolphins on Sunday. Just because the Browns haven’t won a game yet doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have. In week 2 they had Baltimore down 20-2 after the 1st quarter only to have their next 9 possessions produce 6 punts, 2 picks and miss a FG to allow the Ravens to come back and win. The very next week they missed a field goal as time expired that would of beat the Dolphins before losing in OT. Josh McCown might be ready to return this week and if he isn’t Cody Kessler will start. Tennessee coming off a win and the Browns getting bludgeoned by the Patriots has helped lead to this ridiculous 7 point spread. The Browns will cover the 7 and we wouldn’t be shocked with the outright win. Bet this game early as this number will most likely drop. The Pick: Browns +7
