The Favorites
Louisville: Louisville started off the college football weekend with a road trip to Syracuse as 17 point favorites against the Orange. When it was all said and done, Louisville QB Lamar Jackson was just downright scary. Jackson threw for 411 yards and rushed for 199 yards and 4 td’s, as the Cardinals improved to 2-0 SU and 2-0 ATS. Next week, a showdown with Florida St.
Ohio St and Michigan: The Second week in a row these Big Ten Rivals are apart of our impressive favorites list. Ohio St used a dominant rushing attack and suffocating defense to beat Tulsa 48-3 as 28 points favorites. Michigan QB Wilton Speight threw for 312 yards and 4 touchdowns as The Wolverines crushed Central Florida’s dreams of an upset bid early on their way to a 51-14 beat down covering as 36 point favorites. Both teams improved to 2-0 SU and 2-0 ATS on the season.
Tennessee: In week 1 Tennessee looked awful against Appalachian St, barely winning in OT. When Virginia Tech raced out to a 14-0 lead on Saturday night the Volunteers looked like their preseason hype was really just that… HYPE. Then Tennessee woke up and played like a team that should compete for an SEC East crown, beating VT 45-24 covering easy as 11 point favorites.
The Underdogs
Arkansas: In many people’s eyes there wasn’t much hope for The Razorbacks traveling to Big 12 power TCU after narrowly beating Louisiana Tech 21-20 in week 1. Well the Razorbacks played tough from start to finish taking TCU to OT before QB Austin Allen ran in the winning TD to upset the Horned Frogs and improved to 2-0.
Central Michigan: Oklahoma St got screwed! Yes really screwed. Central Michigan should not of been given an untimed down that led to a hail mary, hook and ladder play to win. Well in the betting world unless you had Central Michigan on the money line none of that mattered as Central Michigan covered as 18 point dogs before that play.
Troy: Ok, who really cares about Troy even if they covered as 35 point dogs. Clemson is the story and they are a mess. These preseason co favorites to win the championship better get their shit together or they won’t make the playoffs.
Bad Beats
UTEP +31 vs Texas: Bettors who thought there would be a letdown by the Longhorns after a thrilling week 1 win vs Notre Dame and took UTEP +31 had to be feeling good with Texas up only 13 in the second half. Well that good feeling turned to frustration as the Longhorns scored a late TD pass in the 4th to win 41-7 and cover.
Oregon -24 vs Virginia: Have you ever prayed for a push? Everyone has, and when Virginia scored to make it 44-20, Oregon backers were hoping for either a push or late Ducks score to get them back on the right side. Not only did that not happen but Virginia scored a late meaningless touchdown to make Virginia backers very happy has The Cavaliers covered losing by 18.
