POWER 5 CONFERENCE RECAP

ACC

BEST WIN: The ACC conference as a whole played all patsies except Virginia who lost to Notre Dame. So for the 2nd straight week the nod goes to Georgia Tech who steamrolled Tulane, rushing for 439 yards and winning 65-10 and easily covering the 33 point spread.

WORST LOSS: The Louisville Cardinals are in deep trouble after losing at home to Houston 34-31. Houston kept coming back and got the go ahead score with 3 minutes left to score the upset as 13.5 point dogs and drop Louisville to 0-2.

BAD BEAT: Pittsburgh was favored by 12.5 on the road against Akron. They had a 17-7 lead with a couple minutes left and Zips backers were sitting pretty. Pittsburgh went on a long drive converted 5 3rd downs and scoring a meaningless touchdown with 2 minutes left to cover the number.

BIG 10

BEST WIN: We don’t believe Oregon State is any good but you have to give credit to Jim Harbaugh getting his first win as Michigan dismantled the Beavers 35-7 at home as 14 point favorites. (Michigan St. had a huge win but this is a betting site and they didn’t cover)

WORST LOSS: The Maryland Terrapins were 7 point favorites at home against Bowling Green St. The Falcons had 5 4th quarter possessions, They scored touchdowns on the first 4 and ran the clock out on the 5th to blow the game open and win 48-27.

BAD BEAT: If you bet on Penn St for the second straight week, we apologize. The Nittany Lions backers thought they were going to make up for that miserable loss last week when they had a 27-7 lead in the 4th quarter as 17 point favorites over Buffalo. A late UB TD ensured a backdoor cover and left Penn St backers angry yet again.

BIG 12:

BEST WIN: The #19th ranked Oklahoma Sooners were down 17-3 on the road to 23rd ranked Tennessee at halftime. They outscored The Volunteers 14-0 in the 2nd half and won in OT 31-24 as 2 point favorites.

WORST LOSS: The Iowa St Cyclones were playing in state rival Iowa at home as 3 point dogs. The Cyclones had a 17-10 halftime lead. They were shutout in the 2nd half and The Hawkeyes scored the last 21 points for the 31-17 win and the easy cover.

BAD BEAT: The Texas Longhorns were playing at home as 14.5 point favorites against Rice. They were cruising going into 4th quarter up 42-14. Texas had the ball one time in the 4th quarter for a total of 2 minutes as Rice scored two touchdowns. The second TD came with 3 minutes left for the 42-28 final score and the backdoor cover. Awful loss if you had The Longhorns.

PAC 12

BEST WIN: The Washington St Cougars traveled 3,000 to play Rutgers as a 5 point dog. They had a 20-12 lead going into the 4th quarter and matched Rutgers score for score in the 4th to win 37-34 and cover on the road.

WORST LOSS: The Pac 12 had 2 teams lose. Oregon’s loss at Michigan St was a great game. Oregon St takes the worst loss as they got embarrassed by Michigan 35-7.

BAD BEAT: Whoever had the UNDER 63 in The Arizona vs Nevada game had to be screaming at their tv when Arizona lined up for a 46 yard field goal up 41-20 in the final minutes. FG good, 64 points and some angry UNDER bettors.

SEC

BEST WIN: The Kentucky Wildcats went on the road as 7 point dogs against South Carolina. They raced out to a 24-7 halftime lead and hung on to win 26-22 for the cover and outright win.

WORST LOSS: The Arkansas Razorbacks were 23 point favorites against Toledo in Little Rock. They paid Toledo 1 million dollars to play, the game was worked by an SEC officiating crew and they had over 500 yards of offense with only 1 turnover. Blowout right? WRONG! Arkansas not only didn’t cover, they lost outright 16-12. Thanks for the $ losers, Toledo’s athletic department says as they cash the check.

BAD BEAT: If you had an UNDER 53.5 ticket in the East Carolina vs Florida game, that Pirates TD with 3 minutes left to cut the Florida lead to 31-24 had to be a smack in the face.
