Tips For Betting Conference Tournaments
1. Look for bubble teams to win and cover against their opening opponents. This is especially true in your major conferences where bubble teams don’t normally get the bye’s and have to play against the bottom feeders in the first round.
2. Look for regular season conference champions to roll in their first game and most likely play in the championship game.
3. Home court advantage is HUGE! This is mostly for conferences that play at the higher seeds home court. Fans get even more jacked when their school has a chance for a tournament bid. Much harder to play on the road. For the bigger tournaments, look for schools who are close to the venue and have fans that travel well.
4. Look at the season history. Matchups are huge in conference tournaments. If 2 teams have played twice and the same team won both it could be a bad matchup and chances are will be a clean sweep.
5. Depth. Pay close attention to teams that play their starters heavy minutes and have a short bench. Playing back to back days is something these kids haven’t done this season. Teams playing their 3rd game in 3 days against a team that has only played once or twice is a big disadvantage.
6. Look for the hot teams. Teams playing well down the stretch are more likely to have success early. Bubble teams not playing well in their last 5 games could be choking under the pressure and ousted early.
