NFL 2021 Super Wild Card Saturday Betting Picks From Top NFL Handicappers

Well the NFL did what many including us thought they couldn’t and that’s play all 256 games on time. But after the Washington Football team’s win over the Eagles Sunday Night, Super Wild Card Week became official. In what is the most anticipated Wild Card weekend ever, us NFL bettors now have 6 games to bet on instead of the usual 4. The Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers both locked up the #1 seed and the week off that comes with it as only one team per conference gets the bye this season. So as the Chiefs and Packers watch from home with the rest of us let’s go over the 3 Saturday matchups in order and give you the lines and totals with a few free picks from top Sportscapping.com NFL Handicappers thrown in along the way.

Saturday, January 10th 1:00 pm. #7 Indianapolis Colts @ #2 Buffalo Bills

Line: Bills -7 Total 51.5

One of the most shocking things of this NFL season is not that the Buffalo Bills won the AFC East, it’s that Josh Allen went from a good quarterback to one of the best players in the NFL seemingly overnight. Allen came back in 2020 looking like less of a runner and more of one of the most accurate and deadly down field throwers in the league. Teaming up with All pro Stephon Diggs and the rest of the Bills receiving corps, Allen led Buffalo to the 2nd most points in the NFL this season. The Bills also have a top 5 defense which has led to them having the 3rd best point differential in the league. With the NFL allowing almost 7,000 fans into Bills Stadium and temps in the low 30’s Buffalo will be tough to beat.

The Indianapolis Colts snuck into the playoffs as the 7th seed but they will be no easy out for the Bills. The Colts have a very good defense, one of the best running backs in the NFL at the moment with Jonathon Taylor and Philip Rivers. In what could be Rivers last good chance to do some damage in the playoffs the Colts best strategy against the Bills in this game will fall on the offensive line and Taylor who got better as the season went along and totaled almost 750 yards in his last 6 games.

The Bills are going to be tough to beat playing at home. They have all the tools to win this game and win big but for a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game in 25 years can they get it done and cover the touchdown spread?

Free Pick On The Total From NFL Handicapper Ryan Worden

The Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts play in the first Wild Card game of the weekend and I’m going after the total. The Colts had a very good season that started with them collecting early season wins with dominating defense. If you look closer most of their dominating performances came against bad offensive teams like the Vikings during their early season struggles, the Jets, Bears and Jaguars. Against quality offensive teams later in their schedule they started coming back down to Earth allowing over 20 points in 6 straight games.

The Bills are no ordinary offense. They are one of the top 3 offensive teams heading into the playoffs with the other two (The Chiefs and Packers) not playing Wild Card Weekend. The Bills closed the season scoring 34 on the 49ers, 26 on Pittsburgh in the pouring rain then 48, 38 and 56 on the Broncos, Patriots and Dolphins respectively. I don’t see how Indy stops them and with Philip Rivers, T.Y. Hilton, Jonathan Taylor and that good offensive line, I expect Indy to hit the 20 point mark on Buffalo playing catchup. The Pick: I’m Taking The OVER

Saturday, January 10th 4:40 pm. #6 Los Angeles Rams @ #3 Seattle Seahawks

Line: Seahawks -4.5 Total 42.5

In the middle game of the Wild Card Saturday triple header you have the first of two divisional matchups of the weekend. On November 15th The Rams beat Seattle at home 23-16 to tie for first place in the division at 6-3. But since that point Seattle’s defense finally stepped up and the Seahawks used a weak schedule to race to a 6-1 finish to claim the NFC West while the Rams stumbled late to the winless Jets and lost 20-9 at Seattle in the rematch.

On paper these teams are mirror images if Jared Goff plays but Goff suffered a broken thumb in that week 16 loss to Seattle and seems like a longshot to be ready for this game. That would lead the quarterbacking duties up to John Wofford, the former AAF quarterback who won the first game of his career in week 17 by being a game manager and allowing the defense to do the rest. The Rams are going to need more than a game manager to beat Seattle on the road but with the defense the Rams can play if they can keep it low scoring they may be able to eeke out a cover.

Saturday, January 10th 8:15 pm. #5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ #4 Washington Football Team

Line: Buccaneers -9 Total 45.5

In the Nightcap of Wild Card Saturday we get the greatest quarterback off all time Tom Brady playing his first playoff game with his new team after compiling a 30-11 playoff record with the Patriots including 6 Super Bowl Rings. Things did not go as smoothly as many thought this season as the Bucs started 7-5, getting swept by the Saints and losing to 3 other eventual playoff teams. The Bucs finished strong winning their last 4 games against weak competition to go 11-5 and snag the 5 seed.

The NFC East was the lauighingstock of the NFL all season as it seemed no team wanted to win the division. Finally Washington used a 4 game win streak in November led by a dominant defensive line and the steady hand of Veteran quarterback Alex Smith to take control of the division and win it in the last game of the season. Obviously Tampa is going to be favored in this one but the last two teams to go to the playoffs with 7 wins (The 2014 Carolina Panthers and 2010 Seattle Seahawks) both actually won their Wild Card games against 11 win teams with the Seahawks knocking out the defending champion Saints and the Panthers knocking out the Cardinals.

Can Tampa cover the big spread on the road or will the Washington Defense keep it low scoring enough on their home field to cover the big spread.
