Exactly one year ago Jessica Eye was in a title fight against Valentina Shevchenko. After taking multiple leg kicks to the body, Eye put her guard down and took a devastating left kick to the head that knocked her out cold 26 seconds into in the 2nd round. In December she came back to win a unanimous decision over Vivian Araujo to regain her spot as the number 1 contender to Shevchenko’s belt. Marvin Vettori and Karl Roberson are going to be ready to tear each other’s heads off come Saturday. This match was originally scheduled for April 25th and canceled due to the pandemic, then rescheduled for May 13th but was called off on Wednesday the week of the fight by Roberson due to complications from cutting weight. It was reported he was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis and had to go to the hospital. That led to an altercation by the two fighters in the Hotel Lobby the next day as Vettori started screaming at Roberson accusing him of running from the fight. Vettori had to be held back while shouting expletives the entire time. These two guys are definitely done talking and ready to go. The underdog Roberson is a former kickboxing champ who is 4-2 in UFC. The favorite Vettori is 14-3-1 as a pro and also 4-2 in MMA. Dana White has hyped this fight as the potential Fight Of The Night.
